Focusing on collaboration between filmmakers, games developers, data analysts, user experience designers etc; working beyond traditional creative silos, building teams across disciplines for maximum exploitation of intellectual property

This session looks at nature of collaboration and focuses on the different kinds of teams that will need to be constituted in order to best take advantage of the opportunities for rights exploitation on offer in the converged media landscape.

We examine how ‘T-shaped’ individuals and teams with the breadth of knowledge and the depth of understanding to fuse together creativity, business and technology, will be crucial to the success of this new interdisciplinary mode of collaborating. What kinds of people will filmmakers need to work with? What do they do? How do filmmakers work with them? How do they build these new kinds of creative teams?

Sessions also explore the specific challenges that different types of converged media, interdisciplinary and cross platform work create. Case studies on processes of ideation, development and execution in cross platform projects, games designing, interactive drama and documentary as well as virtual or augmented reality experiences illuminate the key challenges and potential solutions in the designing of effective cross disciplinary collaboration.
